Practice and Value of Jiangxi Mingxin's Waste Lead-Acid Battery Crushing and Recycling Process

China is a major global producer and consumer of lead-acid batteries, generating over 4 million tons of waste lead-acid batteries annually, with the figure increasing year by year. Currently, the industry's recycling processes have obvious limitations: traditional methods mainly rely on manual disassembly, which involves high labor intensity, low efficiency, and a lead recovery rate of only 90%-93%, while the discharge of wastewater and waste gas is difficult to control. Although automated equipment from developed countries is mature, it has high import costs and insufficient adaptability to processing scales. The industry is in urgent need of technical solutions suitable for domestic demand. Relying on more than 30 years of experience in R&D of environmental protection equipment, Jiangxi Mingxin has launched a waste lead-acid battery crushing and recycling process, which has become a technical option to meet this demand.
The core advantages of this process focus on three aspects: in terms of resource recycling, it adopts a closed-loop water treatment system, combined with secondary sedimentation and spray cleaning, to achieve zero wastewater discharge and increase water resource utilization rate by more than 60%; in terms of efficiency, it can be configured with a 5-60 t/h processing system, and through full-process automated treatment, the lead recovery rate reaches over 99%, and the recovery rate of non-metallic materials such as plastics exceeds 97%; in terms of intelligence, it has collaborated with universities to develop a control system, realizing automation of crushing and sorting, with high equipment integration and small floor space. The relevant technology has obtained 3 national invention patents and more than 20 utility model patents, and has passed the appraisal of Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, among which the crushing technology has reached the domestic leading level.
From the perspective of application scenarios, this process complies with the requirements of policies such as the "Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Utilization of Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles", has passed the ISO9001 quality management system certification, and the equipment cost is 30% lower than that of imported products, with comprehensive energy consumption better than the industry average. At present, it has been promoted and applied in China and exported to Southeast Asia.
